SISSA has signed an agreement with Trenitalia for Business. It entitles all members of the SISSA community (including faculty, technical and administrative staff, SISSA Medialab staff, research fellows, PhD students and scholarship holders) to a 10% discount on train tickets, both for missions and for personal travel.
To benefit from the discount you need a CartaFRECCIA. The discount applies to the base, economy and super economy fares on all Frecce and Intercity trains.
To get the discount on personal travel, you must link your CartaFRECCIA to the Trenitalia for Business offer. To join the Trenitalia promotion reserved for the School community, fill in the online form. The reply is not immediate, because Trenitalia collects a number of requests and then processes them in batches.
If you already have a CartaFRECCIA, you can link your code to the programme by logging in with your credentials at the link in the email you receive. Otherwise, by registering through the link provided by SISSA you will automatically receive a CartaFRECCIA that entitles you to the discounts.
Once the link is made, entering your personal CartaFRECCIA code when booking gives you automatic access to the “Welfare Plus” fare. The discount also extends to travelling companions, up to a maximum of 7 people including the cardholder.
For missions, to access the discounted fare it is enough to give your personal CartaFRECCIA number when you ask the partner travel agency to buy a prepaid ticket.
SISSA has signed an agreement with Banca Intesa Sanpaolo that provides a range of benefits for the School community. In particular, research fellows, researchers, scholarship holders and technical-administrative employees under 35 are offered:
- discounts and free services for opening and managing a current account;
- 50% reductions on the fees for subscribing to funds and for conferring portfolio management mandates;
- access to the mamma@work loan for new mothers, with no activation costs.
Research fellows, researchers, scholarship holders and technical-administrative employees under 35 also get reduced rates on the Domus mortgage offered by the bank.

As part of its welfare measures for its whole scientific and administrative community, SISSA has signed agreements with medical practices and businesses in the area, so that faculty, researchers, technical-administrative staff, research fellows and students of the School can enjoy preferential conditions on a range of products and services.
To receive the discounts reserved for the SISSA community you must show your SISSA badge. If your badge is not personalised, you can ask the Store (Mauro Floridan) to personalise it on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 to 12:00. See Store.

SISSA provides contributions to employees, students and research staff in the cases set out in the Regulation on social welfare benefits.
Every year in September SISSA publishes a notice setting the total of extraordinary paid “150-hour” study leave for the school or academic year about to begin.
The leave is granted for attending courses leading to university or post-university qualifications, or to qualifications from state, recognised or legally authorised primary and secondary schools and vocational courses, and for sitting the related exams and preparing for the final exam (Art. 32(9) of the national collective agreement of 18/10/2008). It cannot be granted for PhD courses, which are governed by specific rules.
The beneficiaries are permanent employees, excluding managers and equivalent categories. Part-time staff may benefit in proportion to the service they provide.
To apply, follow the instructions in the notice, which also gives the date on which the names of those entitled to the leave are published.
